The Warm Up

One of the most crucial aspects of singing and an essential part of your pre-performance ritual is to spend at least 15 minutes warming up your vocal chords.

Vowel Exercises

Whilst it can be tempting to down a glass of ice-cold water to quench your thirst, be sure to avoid this before or during singing. Lukewarm water, or at least water kept at room temperature, will help to keep your vocal chords hydrated and warm.

Lastly, be realistic and understand that you won’t get results overnight. The process of being able to expand your vocal range to hit the high notes can be frustrating, so it’s important to keep at it and practice a little every day.
